Hotel Silberstein

We are located in Puerto Ayora on the island of Santa Cruz, only a 5-minute walk away from the Charles Darwin Scientific Station and 50 metres from the sea.

Arriving by plane from Quito or Guayaquil to Baltra Island airport, the passengers will take the bus to Itabaca Channel which is crossed by a ferry to the north of Santa Cruz Island.

You will take the bus to cross the island from north to south. On the way you´ll have the possibility to observe seven different types of micro climates. After approximately 45 minutes, you´ll arrive Puerto Ayora and your new home on Galapagos: Hotel Silberstein.

At the beginning of the 20th century, members of the Angermeyer family arrived to the islands and established the Residential Hotel Angermeyer. Surrounded by a beautiful garden it was an information centre for tourists willing to learn the secrets of the Enchanted Islands.

The new owners, Werner Silberstein and his wife Gabriele, of German origin, kept the name of Hotel Angermeyer for some time, maintaining the traditional hospitality with modern service, ready to provide you accommodation with full board at a high standard in a natural paradise. Today the hotel is named Hotel Silberstein and continues giving you the possibility to explore the precious treasures of the Galápagos Islands in different ways. Hotel Mainao

Welcome to the best relaxing place in Puerto Ayora, in a comfortable family environment. Originally – like 10 years ago – the hostel was a house for my 2 daughters, Mailé and Naorí. There were 6 rooms and the idea was to have a place to share holiday times with them. As time passed by, they became more independent and the house grew quiet and empty. This led to the idea of a place to accommodate the Santa Cruz' growing tourist population. Making the most of its strategic location, the Mainao offers a comfortable stay, away from the downtown’s hustle and bustle. Throughout my experience as a tour guide, I have come to understand the tourist's expectations in terms of service and infrastructure, and have applied these to the hotel. Little by little, it has grown to 19 rooms. I decided on Arabic-Moroccan construction, with peaceful gardens and patios, making it the ideal place for resting and relaxing. The name was inspired in my 2 daughters: Mailé and Naorí. Welcome to the MAINAO.

Casa Natura Galapagos Hotel is a small charming hotel recently opened in February, 2009 in Puerto Ayora, on the Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos Archipelago. This port is home to the Charles Darwin Research Station, which is devoted to the investigation of the unique wildlife that can be found on the Galapagos Islands.
